This little girl with the blonde curls is my daughter, Ruthie.

I was pregnant with her when I first picked up a camera. I knew I wanted to take more photos, better photos, and preserve them as best as I could.

See, I wasn't so lucky with my son.

He was born at a time when "the cloud" wasn't a thing. The photos I took of him as a baby, for the most part...are gone. Lost on old cell phones that no longer work.

I cherished that little boy and was devastated to lose pieces of that time in our lives.

With Ruthie on the way, I was determined to do it differently. I thought I'd spend a few weekends learning photography, and that would be that.

Now, here I am, years later and still learning, surrounded by family mementos sweeter than I ever imagined.
